GDPR help

We help you with GDPR

We provide GDPR support to help you navigate a complex and often opaque legal framework. At Morling Consulting, our lawyers deliver practical advice to ensure your organisation meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Whether you are a smaller or mid-sized company, we offer expertise and guidance to ensure that the processing of personal data is lawful. Our GDPR support for small businesses is tailored and outcome-focused.

Morling Consulting’s GDPR compliance support spans from an initial assessment of current data protection practices to ongoing advisory and training, keeping your operations aligned with the latest rules and guidance. We recognise that every business has distinct needs and ways of working, so we adapt our solutions to your specific context to create measurable value.

Approach to GDPR support

Top-down view of a tidy workspace with a laptop, notebook, and two suited hands framing a blank sheet of paper to signal scope and clear objectives for legal counsel.

We start by quickly building a clear picture of how you handle personal data in practice and which parts of the business should be in scope. This creates a boundary that makes the work efficient and relevant to your day-to-day operations.

We then link your processing to applicable requirements and identify where risks typically arise based on your flows and roles. You get a clear overview that makes it easier to decide what needs to be addressed first.

We produce a workable plan with priorities that balance legal requirements against business value and resource effort. The plan becomes a practical basis for management and responsible owners to work from.

We support you in translating the plan into concrete ways of working and updated documentation that can be used in the business. The focus is on traceability and clear responsibilities so the work stands up in operations and during reviews.

Once the foundation is in place, we can provide advice for changes, training initiatives, and support with data subject requests or personal data incidents. This keeps your data protection work current as processes, systems, and regulations evolve.

  • Improved security and reduced risk of personal data incidents.
  • Clearer internal processes and accountability.
  • Enhanced competitiveness through a resilient reputation.
  • Smoother handling of data subject requests and incidents.

Common questions on GDPR support

GDPR regulates how personal data may be collected, processed and stored. For your business this means, among other things, that:

  • You must have a lawful basis for processing personal data.
  • You must be able to demonstrate compliance (accountability).
  • You must inform data subjects about how their data are used.
  • Non-compliance can result in a reprimand, temporary or permanent processing bans, or significant fines.

We provide comprehensive GDPR compliance support to ensure your organisation meets GDPR requirements, including:

  • Mapping and analysis of existing compliance (gap analysis).
  • Drafting and updating policies and documentation.
  • Staff training on data protection and GDPR.
  • Ongoing legal advisory on GDPR.
  • Assistance with personal data incidents and any notification to the Data Protection Authority.

It depends on the type and scale of processing. A DPO is generally required where you process sensitive data on a large scale, monitor individuals systematically and regularly, or are a public authority or body. We can assess whether a DPO is needed and can also act as your external DPO.

We have experience with cross-border application of the GDPR and can assist with advice on transfers to third countries, alignment with both domestic and international requirements, and coordination of GDPR work within groups or with overseas partners.

We offer both ongoing advisory and fixed-scope projects. Please contact us to discuss and request a proposal.
